Job Summary

Assist the Safety team with workplace safety/health, risk management, and employee development programs under the direction of the area EHS Coordinator. Maintain incident and claims records, enter incident and audit information into systems, and support safety-related claims. Coordinate safety/health training materials for operations leaders, provide PPE and technical support, and help with MSHA compliance while coaching performance management practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain files/records for incidents/injuries and applicable claims, including general liability, auto liability, and workers’ compensation.
•Enter incident and workers’ compensation claim information into the system as needed, and enter safety audit information as needed.
•Provide safety/health materials to operations supervisors to support training needs.
•Provide PPE and technical support as needed, and assist with employee health hazard exposures using industrial hygiene techniques.
•Support MSHA compliance and assist with coaching operations managers/supervisors through the performance management process.

Key Requirements

•1-2 years of construction and/or industrial safety experience.
•Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce federal, state, local, and company regulations.
•Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
•Solid training/teaching experience with excellent oral and written communication.
•Eventually become New-Miner Certified under Part 46 of 30 CFR.
