Job Summary

Provide technical assistance for HVAC design across infrastructure, building, and construction projects in the public and private sector. Support research, concept development, design planning, and integration of HVAC systems (temperature controls, air distribution, hydronic/steam) while helping ensure deliverables meet schedule and quality standards. Conduct field assessments, compile specifications and schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams using Revit/AutoCAD for drawings, load calculations, equipment schedules, and compliance analyses.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze site data (surveys, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, HVAC load calculations, and performance reports) to support HVAC design and construction.
•Apply mechanical engineering and HVAC design principles with senior staff across concept development, preliminary/final design, and construction administration.
•Perform HVAC field assessments of site conditions, mechanical rooms, equipment, and system distribution to confirm code and industry-standard conformance.
•Prepare HVAC-related specifications, mechanical schedules, and deliverables including drawings, airflow diagrams, and heat transfer calculations using AutoCAD/Revit.
•Coordinate and collaborate with owners, architects, electrical engineers, sub-consultants, and subcontractors while staying current on HVAC design strategies and sustainability practices.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (or closely related discipline).
•7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience with direct HVAC and mechanical system design.
•Proficiency in HVAC engineering principles and building project system design processes.
•Experience with HVAC load calculations, energy code compliance, and HVAC construction administration.
•Highly proficient with AutoCAD and Revit, plus load calculation tools and spreadsheets for HVAC system analysis.
