Key Responsibilities

•Provide civil engineering technical leadership and design governance for data centre and critical infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with AECOM standards and regulatory requirements.
•Lead, review, and approve civil engineering infrastructure designs and specifications for site development, earthworks, drainage, pavements, access, and utility infrastructure.
•Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and technical specialists across ground, electrical, mechanical, structural, and environmental disciplines to deliver the project portfolio.
•Support client engagement, business development, asset reviews, and expansion or upgrade strategies within the data centres market.
•Mentor and develop civil engineers to strengthen AECOM’s technical capability in the data centres sector.

Key Requirements

•Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with a strong technical foundation in infrastructure design and delivery for data centre clients.
•Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE or equivalent), or operating at chartered level with clear evidence of professional standing and leadership.
•Proven experience leading delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects, ideally within data centres or mission-critical/large-scale development sectors.
•Strong working knowledge of planning, highways, drainage, and utility approval processes, with experience engaging Local Authorities, statutory bodies, and utility providers.
•Demonstrated capability operating as Design Lead / Technical Authority in large multidisciplinary teams, including governance, technical assurance, and risk management.
