Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the POS Application Platform’s technical strategy and architecture as the domain CTO for POS devices.
  • •Build and govern platform pillars: developer experience, platform reliability/observability, foundational frameworks (architecture, coding standards, testing/release pipelines), and squad adoption.
  • •Define and enforce engineering standards across POS device types and OEM manufacturers to ensure consistency and quality across a heterogeneous device fleet.
  • •Functionally lead embedded POS engineers across Payments, Onboarding, VAS, Savings, and Loans squads, setting engineering quality standards.
  • •Own POS observability end-to-end (monitoring, alerting, and incident response) and drive architecture for onboarding, governance, and integration of new devices.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years hands-on software engineering experience, with at least 6 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
  • •Direct, hands-on experience building POS terminal application-layer software that runs on the device itself.
  • •Deep Android expertise in Kotlin and Java for the POS application layer.
  • •Strong knowledge of EMV standards and experience navigating payment certification processes including PCI DSS and P2PE.
  • •Experience building internal engineering platforms/foundational frameworks used by other teams and governing across multiple POS device types/OEMs.
