Key Responsibilities

  • •Hire, develop, and manage a small team of product designers working on agentic and AI-native experiences.
  • •Define and maintain Mural’s interaction pattern language for agent behavior, including permission, disclosure, handoff, confidence, and error recovery.
  • •Use code and rapid prototyping to pressure-test agent behaviors and personally tackle the hardest, least-defined interaction problems.
  • •Own the team’s roadmap and staffing in partnership with product and engineering leads, and represent the team to senior stakeholders.
  • •Partner with research, lead workshops and design sprints, and represent design’s AI-native point of view in product strategy conversations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 216,504 - 270,630 annually

Key Requirements

  • •15+ years of product design experience, including recent experience managing and growing designers, ideally in ambiguous 0→1 spaces.
  • •Track record defining or evolving a design pattern language or system, with preference for behavior-based systems.
  • •Familiarity with agent-based or AI-assisted experience design, including memory, context windows, tool use, and autonomy/control tradeoffs.
  • •Comfort using code as a design tool, including prototyping and “vibe coding” to explore interaction and system behavior.
  • •Strong systems thinking and experience partnering with engineering to evolve prototypes into shipped implementations.
