Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

•Operate the asphalt distributor on road construction projects.
•Set spray bars for applying liquid asphalt using manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors.
•Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
•Perform minor servicing and maintenance to keep equipment in efficient working condition, or refer major problems to the supervisor.
•Perform related duties such as shovel work and setting string line, including adding or removing screed extensions.

Key Requirements

•Hold a current CDL license, preferably with Tanker endorsement, and be able to learn to operate an asphalt distributor truck.
•Operate asphalt distributor equipment by setting the spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
•Perform minor servicing and make normal operating adjustments to equipment, and refer major problems to the supervisor.
•Pass DOT physical and drug screen.
•Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and apply basic math skills using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
