Job Summary

Lead a newly formed AI Applications team and scale Plaid’s successful bets in customer-facing GenAI. Manage and grow a team of four engineers, define long-term strategy, and partner with technical and product leaders. Drive projects that integrate Plaid with AI providers (including MCP servers), improve conversational conversational link experiences, and architect trust layers for agentic commerce, while advancing AI-powered customer support and other high-ROI customer journey capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and grow a team of 4 engineers through goal setting, coaching, and feedback.
•Define and drive long-term strategy and manage execution in partnership with technical and product leaders.
•Develop and scale integrations for Plaid’s largest AI customers and partners, including AI-provider integration patterns and official Plaid MCP servers.
•Redefine consumer link embedding into conversational interfaces and architect trust for agentic commerce.
•Advance AI-powered customer experience, including multi-turn/multi-agent support improvements and extending agentic systems to other customer-journey areas.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 216,000 - 367,200 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years of industry experience, including time as a Staff-level engineer before transitioning into management.
•1+ years of engineering management experience.
•Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM-powered products using prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, semantic search (vector DB/embeddings), agent orchestration, and streaming/SSE.
•Ability to understand customer/user needs via user research and rapid experimentation, acting as a technical PM.
•Track record building and growing high-performing engineering teams and driving 0→1 projects using both divergent and convergent thinking.
