Key Responsibilities

  • •Receive and log incoming specimen shipments from multiple carriers in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • •Verify specimen integrity and labeling, and confirm accompanying test orders for completeness and accuracy.
  • •Accession specimens into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) with unique identifiers linked to the correct patient and test order.
  • •Prepare specimens for testing, including aliquoting, centrifuging, labeling, and distributing to appropriate lab departments.
  • •Follow biohazard safety protocols and maintain accurate documentation of all received and processed samples.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or completion of a laboratory assistant training program preferred.
  • •Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare environment strongly preferred.

  • •Proficiency in data entry and comfort with laboratory information systems (LIS).
  • •Must be able to lift packages up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
