Job Summary

Build and operate the foundational data layer for real estate transactions, designing systems for fast, correct, tenant-isolated databases and caches at large scale. Own fleet-level upgrades and multi-tenant isolation via SDKs, develop Kafka/MSK streaming infrastructure, and create deep observability (SLIs and telemetry) to detect issues before customers do. Partner with product and platform teams to assess readiness, migrate onto golden-path infrastructure, and resolve critical production incidents.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and operate the database and caching fleet (RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, ElastiCache Redis/Valkey, DynamoDB), including replication, failover, capacity, and engine strategy.
•Implement multi-tenant data isolation from the ground up and ship SDKs in Go, Java, and Python to enforce tenant-safe access patterns.
•Own production database upgrades at fleet scale, coordinating engine version bumps and Terraform state changes across hundreds of clusters.
•Build and scale Kafka/MSK streaming infrastructure, including topic architecture, consumer patterns, and blue/green deployments.
•Develop observability for the data layer, including SLI dashboards, tenant-dimensioned telemetry, and real-time performance insights; partner to resolve production incidents.

Salary: USD 176,000 - 196,100 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years building and operating distributed systems, with depth in at least one major managed database (PostgreSQL or similar) at production scale in AWS.
•Experience building shared tooling such as SDKs, client libraries, or platform APIs, and making infrastructure safe and accessible for non-infrastructure engineers.
•Comfort with trade-offs and choosing appropriate enforcement boundaries (application-enforced vs hard infrastructure lock), based on context.
•Ability to write Go (or ramp quickly) and work with Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS IAM-heavy environments.
•Experience leading cross-team operational programs like change management, migration coordination, and rollback planning.
