Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee lab operations, including development, planning, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods and workflows for lab products and technologies.
  • •Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and CLIA/CAP guidelines, including CAPAs, NCR closeouts, and regulatory adherence.
  • •Monitor and drive performance using production metrics such as TAT, SLA, efficiency, scrap/waste, and error rates; conduct decision-making based on metrics.
  • •Manage staffing, including headcount, interviews, and employee PTO/overtime as needed; lead training and performance reviews for direct reports and staff.
  • •Troubleshoot lab processing errors, support automation/test improvements into production workflows, and coordinate with cross-functional teams (OPS, Accessioning, Engineering, Stats, R&D, Support).

Key Requirements

  • •BS/BA degree in Biological Sciences, related field, or equivalent.
  • •Current ASCP board certification in Medical Technology or California State CLS or CGMBS license (Clinical Genetics Molecular Biologist Scientist).
  • •3+ years of relevant leadership experience and/or effectively managing a team (preferred).
  • •5+ years of industry-related experience (preferred).
  • •Ability to work on a Laboratory Operations floor and support regulatory compliance.
