Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify, scope, and solve complex platform problems across multiple teams, including those not yet fully defined.
  • •Drive initiatives from design doc through adoption across the organisation.
  • •Architect scalable infrastructure and deliver self-service platforms and CLIs to reduce dependency on platform teams.
  • •Define platform observability standards (monitoring, alerting, and health visibility) and implement production monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • •Partner with engineering teams to translate pain points into technical direction, mentor engineers via code review and design feedback, and participate in on-call rotations for critical platform services.

Key Requirements

  • •Staff-level background in Platform Engineering with strong programming experience in Python and Go (Java or TypeScript is a plus).
  • •Lead complex, cross-team platform initiatives end-to-end, including setting the direction others build on.
  • •Support large engineering organizations (1,000+ engineers).
  • •Deep experience with AWS and Kubernetes at workload depth (autoscaling, pod lifecycle, scheduling, configuration).
  • •Experience shaping CI/CD pipelines and monorepo build tooling (e.g., Jenkins/GitLab CI/Buildkite and Bazel/Gradle), plus observability and infrastructure as code (Terraform/Pulumi/CloudFormation).
