Key Responsibilities

  • •Work with the team on firmware support, design, development, and delivery for AMD discrete and embedded products.
  • •Craft, implement, debug, and validate firmware features on reference hardware/software and in pre-silicon emulation and simulation environments.
  • •Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and project planning.
  • •Build clear documentation for the software produced and train on agile methodologies and standard software engineering processes.
  • •Engage in work such as x86 firmware development in C, embedded firmware/bootrom development, and debugging FW/HW boundary issues with waveform-level analysis.

Salary: CAD 44,500 - 71,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Currently enrolled in a Canada-based bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • •Knowledge or experience with low-level BIOS, firmware, or system software development.
  • •Low-level programming experience in C/C++ and understanding of hardware architectures.
  • •Experience with embedded systems, RTOS, and embedded controller structures.
  • •Experience with source control, debuggers, compilers, and system-wide debugging from software through firmware to hardware.
