Job Summary

Build privacy-aware backend services and platforms for the Online Infra team to protect sensitive TikTok user data across the full data lifecycle. Design system functionality and privacy engineering frameworks spanning API gateways, microservices, storage, and message queues. Apply anonymization, pseudonymization, and encryption while partnering with PMs and cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and support data governance in an event-driven manner.

•Design and build services that protect user sensitive data using privacy-by-design-by-default approaches.
•Lead system design and develop functionality for privacy engineering frameworks and platforms.
•Implement anonymization, pseudonymization, and encryption to preserve user privacy during data processing.
•Develop data understanding services to support data governance projects in an event-driven manner.
•Partner with PMs and cross-functional teams to address technical challenges across the product suite.

Key Requirements

•Comprehensive understanding of computer principles and server architecture, with proficiency in at least one programming language and knowledge of data structures/algorithms.
•Experience designing rational technical solutions for business scenarios and requirements.
•Ability to communicate effectively and work in cross-functional teams.
•Bachelor's degree or above with 5 years of software engineering experience.
•Experience implementing privacy-by-design/default principles and building backend systems with large-scale distributed architectures.
