Job Summary

Lead a research and development portfolio that integrates AI infrastructure with system feedback loops across real-world education-to-workforce contexts. Design and run iterative learning cycles, generate evidence on infrastructure and governance conditions, and translate findings into portfolio strategy and investment design. Negotiate and manage grants and performance-based contracts, coordinate cross-portfolio dependencies, and provide technical guidance through site visits, convenings, and reporting to division leadership.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and lead a portfolio of implementation R&D investments that test integrated approaches between AI Infrastructure and system feedback loops in real-world contexts.
•Generate actionable evidence on infrastructure changes, including technical, organizational, and governance conditions needed for integrated data and AI solutions.
•Design iterative learning cycles to assess progress toward impact goals and ensure findings translate into portfolio strategy and investment refinements.
•Negotiate, implement, and lead a portfolio of grants and performance-based contracts to produce high-quality, actionable learning.
•Serve as the primary cross-portfolio integrator, coordinating interdependent requirements and informing investment hypotheses and technical requirements over time.

Salary: USD 190,100 - 294,700 annually

Key Requirements

•An advanced degree or equivalent experience, preferably in education research, learning sciences, public policy, or a related field.
•Mastery-level knowledge of implementation research methodologies, including iterative learning cycles and theory of implementation.
•Significant experience working with education-to-workforce data systems, including federal, state, and private data sources and how data infrastructure intersects with AI deployment and learner outcomes.
•Significant experience designing and leading grant portfolios or R&D investment programs, with the ability to generate actionable evidence and translate findings into strategy refinements.
•Proven ability to make equity-centered decisions about the impacts of data and technology, including how AI supports Black, Latino, Indigenous students, and students from low-income backgrounds.
