Key Responsibilities

  • •Build, run, and interrogate quantitative techno-economic, energy market, and dispatch models or other bespoke analytical models.
  • •Frame modelling exercises around the client’s decision or advisory question and translate outputs into commercial insight and recommendations.
  • •Work independently on modelling tasks, flagging assumptions, limitations, and emerging findings to senior team members and clients.
  • •Present technical analysis to non-technical audiences and communicate methods and findings through clear reports and deliverables.
  • •Contribute to, or lead, broader advisory engagements beyond modelling; for more experienced candidates, mentor modellers and set technical standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 5 years’ work experience, including at least 3 years in quantitative modelling.
  • •Experience in quantitative or techno-economic modelling, ideally including energy market/dispatch modelling or bespoke model development.
  • •Prior advisory/consulting or client-facing analytical role (not a back-office modelling role).
  • •Tertiary qualification in engineering, economics, mathematics, statistics, actuarial studies, or a related quantitative discipline; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
  • •Strong Python skills essential; GAMS and PLEXOS (or similar energy modelling tools) are highly regarded.
