Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and design transmission line plan and profile drawings using PLSCADD to meet client standards and NESC/other requirements.
  • •Develop structure recommendations and perform insulation, A/C interference, static wire, and grounding studies for line design.
  • •Assist in leading transmission line design for capital projects, including routing and strategy decisions, reliability optimization, and minimizing crossings.
  • •Develop technical specifications, QA/QC procedures, deliverable templates, and improve day-to-day efficiency; review construction design documents and design package quality.
  • •Interpret geotechnical reports for foundation design and coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines while supporting project goals, reporting, and timely delivery.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering (or closely related).
  • •1+ years post-education experience, preferably in Transmission Line Design with voltages up to 115 kV HVAC.
  • •Knowledge of codes and standards including NESC, AISC, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • •Experience with finite element modeling using PLS-CADD, POLE, and TOWER; exposure to MFAD, HFAD, LPILE, AutoCAD, and MicroStation (PSCAD is a plus).
  • •Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
