Job Summary

Lead end-to-end hardware development for next-generation scale-up switch platforms that power AMD’s high-performance AI networking. Own system architecture and technical direction for 800G/1.6T+ class systems, serve as senior technical authority across board and interconnect design, and oversee schematic/PCB/bring-up, validation, debug, and production readiness. Build and mentor global engineering teams and partner across ASIC, optics, manufacturing, software, quality, and hyperscale stakeholders while driving execution, cost optimization, and innovation in validation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

•Define and drive system architecture for scale-up switch platforms, including 800G/1.6T+ class systems.
•Establish the hardware roadmap, design strategy, and technical direction aligned with AMD’s AI infrastructure goals.
•Lead end-to-end hardware development from architecture through schematic design, PCB layout, bring-up, validation, and production readiness.
•Oversee system-level validation, electrical bring-up, compliance, debug, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
•Build, mentor, and lead global multidisciplinary engineering teams; manage planning, vendor partnerships, and global execution while communicating risks and status to executives.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
•Extensive experience leading high-performance networking systems or scale-up switch/AI system architectures.
•Deep expertise in PCIe Gen6/Gen7, UAL/XGMI, DDR5/DDR6, and 200G+ Ethernet/high-speed interconnect technologies.
•Strong background in system-level SI/PI design, validation, debug, and root-cause analysis.
•Hands-on experience with board/system bring-up, PCB design, high-speed layout, and system integration.
