Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the storefront frontend, including product detail, collection/category pages, gear/merchandise shop, and seasonal landing pages, reducing time from concept to live.
  • •Extend and steward the design system by growing the component library, tokens, and page-composition patterns so teams can ship faster with consistent guardrails.
  • •Build self-serve Shopify theme sections/blocks/metafields/metaobjects so creative and merchandising partners can launch pages without engineering for every change.
  • •Partner with creative and UX to take Figma files or early concepts and drive them to shipped pages by asking questions, proposing alternatives, and making judgment calls.
  • •Maintain high quality across Core Web Vitals, accessibility, responsive behavior, cross-browser correctness, and analytics instrumentation, while working with backend engineering on data/API contracts.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong Shopify experience, including Liquid, Online Store 2.0 theme architecture (sections, blocks, metafields, metaobjects), and Storefront/Admin GraphQL APIs.
  • •6+ years of frontend engineering, including 3+ years on commerce storefronts.
  • •Expert modern frontend skills with JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS architecture, and a component framework (React or equivalent), plus progressive enhancement.
  • •Hands-on design systems work: build or materially extend component libraries and token systems, translating Figma libraries into composable code.
  • •Experience with category/collection page depth (faceted navigation, sort defaults, pagination/infinite scroll, variant/color presentation) plus performance and accessibility (Core Web Vitals, WCAG 2.1 AA).
