Job Summary

Help build and maintain core marketing datasets, data marts, and feature stores that support multiple product teams. You’ll design and maintain data pipelines and SQL/Python-based transforms, drive data quality and best practices, and integrate data from production databases, clickstream, and external APIs. Work on next-generation data products using real-time technologies like Apache Kafka within a cloud-native stack including BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Airflow.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaboratively refine and evangelize a framework for integrating data-thinking into the software development lifecycle for product teams.
•Design, architect, and maintain core marketing datasets, data marts, and feature stores in partnership with analytics, data science, and machine learning.
•Integrate with product engineers, analysts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to understand data needs and build datasets with engineering rigor.
•Drive data quality and best practices across different business areas.
•Help build next-generation data products at Thumbtack, including real-time data products on top of Apache Kafka.

Key Requirements

•2 or more years of experience designing and building data sets and data warehouses.
•Strong collaboration skills with stakeholders, especially Analytics, to identify process improvements across teams.
•Experience with SQL for analytics/reporting/business intelligence and building SQL- and Python-based transforms in an ETL pipeline.
•Experience designing, architecting, and maintaining datasets integrating multiple sources, including production databases, clickstream data, and external APIs.
•Familiarity with a modern, cloud-native data stack (BigQuery, dbt, Apache Airflow) or a similar stack.
