Job Summary

Underwrite residential mortgage applications across Conventional and Non-QM programs, including DSCR and alternative documentation loans. Analyze borrower credit, income, assets, employment history, collateral, and DSCR to assess eligibility and risk. Apply agency, investor, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, ATR/QM, TRID, RESPA, TILA, HMDA/HOEPA), issue approval decisions, and ensure documentation accuracy. Support audits, quality control, and process improvements while managing multiple loan files and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

•Review and underwrite residential mortgage loan applications, including Conventional, Non-QM, and DSCR products.
•Analyze borrower credit, income, assets, employment history, and collateral to determine eligibility and risk exposure.
•Evaluate alternative documentation programs and calculate DSCR, performing complex income and risk analyses.
•Ensure compliance with agency, investor, company, and federal/state lending guidelines; perform manual underwriting and evaluate exceptions.
•Issue underwriting decisions (approval/conditional/suspension/denial), review documentation for accuracy and compliance, and maintain accurate records while managing multiple files and deadlines.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 2–5 years of mortgage underwriting experience with Conventional and/or Non-QM loan products.
•Strong knowledge of Conventional underwriting guidelines, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac requirements.
•Experience underwriting Non-QM products, including DSCR and alternative documentation loans (e.g., bank statement, asset depletion, ITIN, 1099, P&L-only).
•Thorough understanding of mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements.
•Proficiency with Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS), including DU and LP, plus electronic document management systems.
