Key Responsibilities

  • •Approve and be ultimately accountable for planned, emergency and hot-line switching
  • •Coordinate shift work with dispatch resources and dispatch electric and gas services
  • •Respond to emergencies to minimize customer impact by sectionalizing, monitoring system conditions, and taking appropriate actions
  • •Initiate/direct emergency call tree actions and route information to appropriate departments and personnel
  • •Use discretion to take actions to operate the distribution system reliably, including load shedding and system restoration

Key Requirements

  • •Associate Degree preferred
  • •2 years of experience in utility operations/construction
  • •Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • •Subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements under 49 CFR Part 40 and PHMSA regulations (Part 199)
  • •Ability to troubleshoot electric and gas problems and perform accurate work under adverse conditions
