Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify, appeal, and reverse denied or underpaid claims inappropriately paid by payors.
  • •Collaborate with HIM, coding, and medical teams to gather required documentation for appeals.
  • •Create procedures to minimize denials through trend reporting and education, and categorize denials by root cause.
  • •Analyze and report data on underpayments, denials, and revenue opportunities; support payor contract interpretation and staff communications.
  • •Execute special audit requests for denials, draft appeal letters, and provide support for billing and reimbursement issues while maintaining medical record confidentiality.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Para Medical, Accounting, or a related field.
  • •Minimum of 3 years of experience, including 2 years in denial analysis and resubmission in a hospital or Day Surgical Centre setting.
  • •Coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
  • •Experience with managed care contracts and reconciling patient accounts (highly desirable).
  • •Proficient in written and spoken English.
