Job Summary

Lead technical hedge accounting excellence for Ripple Treasury’s managed services client portfolio. Serve as the primary SME for ASC 815 and IFRS 9, reviewing documentation, effectiveness testing, disclosures, and audit support. Manage and develop the derivative accounting team, improve hedge accounting workflows and templates, and establish KPIs. Partner with clients and internal teams to translate FASB/IASB updates into actionable guidance and ensure scalable, high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as primary SME for hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9, advising on fair value hedges, cash flow hedges, net investment hedges, de-designation, and disclosures.
•Review and approve hedge documentation, designation memos, risk management objectives, and effectiveness testing methodologies across the client portfolio.
•Oversee quantitative and qualitative effectiveness assessments using methods such as regression analysis, dollar-offset, and hypothetical derivative.
•Manage, mentor, and develop the derivative accounting team, including coaching, feedback, and resource planning across client engagements.
•Improve the hedge accounting lifecycle by building standardized workflows, templates, close checklists, and KPIs; lead audit support and retrospectives after close cycles.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 176,000 - 210,000 annually

Key Requirements

•CPA required; advanced degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
•10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 7 years focused on derivative instruments and hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9.
•Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams in public accounting, managed services, or corporate finance.
•Deep technical fluency in ASC 815 and IFRS 9, including hedge accounting elections, effectiveness testing, and disclosure requirements.
•Strong understanding of derivatives across asset classes (interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, FX forwards, options, commodity derivatives).
