Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical oversight and delivery of design packages across multiple project stages within traction power and substations.
  • •Collaborate with Project Manager and project team to coordinate technical delivery; guide designers, early careers and junior engineers; liaise with clients and stakeholders.
  • •Develop concept and detailed design documentation including calculations, reports and specifications; perform independent technical checks for compliance with standards.
  • •Attend site visits and surveys to inform design development and provide construction stage design support where required.
  • •Review design outputs from others and provide technical guidance to ensure alignment with project requirements and safety standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience in traction power and high voltage substation design
  • •Experience delivering projects through feasibility, outline and detailed design stages
  • •Experience acting as CRE / Lead Engineer is advantageous (support and mentoring provided to progression)
  • •Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and design governance
  • •Low voltage experience desirable but not essential
