Job Summary

Lead GoFundMe’s global payments legal strategy and serve as the company’s senior legal authority on payments, financial services, and fintech matters. Partner with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Finance, Risk, Trust & Safety, and Business Development to enable responsible innovation across a rapidly evolving global payments ecosystem. Build governance, scalable legal infrastructure, and regulatory operating models, including licensing, supervisory examinations, audits, and regulator engagement, while translating complex legal requirements into practical business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as GoFundMe’s senior legal advisor for payments, financial services, and fintech matters; define the legal strategy for the global payments platform.
•Design scalable legal and regulatory operating models that support global expansion, enterprise risk management, and long-term platform strategy.
•Advise on payments law and regulatory requirements, including AML/BSA, sanctions, fraud prevention, KYC/KYB, and card network/ACH rules.
•Build governance and legal infrastructure, including legal frameworks, governance models, and scalable legal processes across products and jurisdictions.
•Structure and advise on strategic commercial partnerships with payment processors, financial institutions, banking partners, card networks, and fintech providers.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 194,000 - 291,500 annually

•Deep expertise in payments law, money transmission, financial services regulation, AML/BSA, sanctions, fraud prevention, KYC/KYB, and card network/ACH rules.
•Proven success partnering cross-functionally to launch and scale payments products in highly regulated environments.
