Key Responsibilities

  • •Guide engineering design, estimating, and analysis for electric transmission and substation protection systems, supporting capital budgets and performance enhancements.
  • •Develop and coordinate the system protection platform for AVANGRID with global affiliates, including integration, settings, networking, criteria, specifications, and commissioning requirements.
  • •Oversee engineering studies to evaluate equipment and protection performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and apply engineering judgment to solve complex technical problems.
  • •Provide expertise on transmission fault event operations and ensure protection schemes operate as intended, producing clear fault analysis reports with corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • •Lead and guide the Protection Engineering group’s technical training and development, mentor engineers, and represent the company on regional and national committees.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience; Master’s preferred.
