Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and check hydraulic models to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies
  • •Develop water quality models using industry-standard software (MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT, ICM)
  • •Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches with consideration of risks and opportunities
  • •Undertake and check hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP
  • •Lead and input into tenders ranging from one-off projects to multimillion-pound framework contracts

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (e.g., Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller, and/or TUFLOW)
  • •Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements for flood models and flood risk assessments
  • •Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • •Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar
  • •Practical knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Anaconda, Ruby) would be advantageous
