Job Summary

Work on tailings and geotechnical engineering deliverables as part of a multidisciplinary team, from conceptual design through detail design. Provide specialized technical input across tailings management, heap leach facilities, water impoundments, waste rock dump design, soil mechanics, and geosynthetics. Support project delivery by managing your scope, producing technical reports and estimates, maintaining client relationships, and contributing to technical proposals while traveling to assist clients and projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Work with engineers, scientists, and modellers across conceptual and detail design and engineering phases.
•Provide specialized technical input for tailings management facilities, heap leach facilities, water impoundments, waste rock dump design, soil mechanics, soil improvement methods, and geosynthetic materials engineering.
•Assist project managers with delivery by managing your involvement, including time, budget, and quality control.
•Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and cost estimates.
•Develop client relationships, represent WSP on site, liaise with Mining Team networks, and support business development and technical proposals.

Key Requirements

•Degree qualified in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or engineering geology, with strong proven ability in soil mechanics.
•Knowledge of national and international design guidelines and regulations.
•Mining and geotechnical experience relating to mine waste disposal/facilities.
•Ability to interpret and monitor results and use tools to monitor and design geotechnical structures for client operational requirements.
•Theoretical and practical experience of project management and consultancy, supporting client relationships, projects, and project teams.
