Define IoT/edge architecture, cloud landing zones, and device security (certificates, mTLS, monitoring), and build resilient data pipelines and ETL. Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps teams to meet DoD IL4 and FedRAMP compliance while engaging stakeholders and maintaining architecture documentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead IoT/edge solution architecture for inheriting, integrating, and modernizing a client’s IoT radiation exposure tracking environment, including data ingestion, modeling, interoperability, and secure device management requirements.
•Architect and oversee AWS GovCloud landing zone setup with compliance for government requirements, including secure network segmentation and cloud security configurations and audit needs.
•Implement secure IoT device onboarding, provisioning, and lifecycle management using AWS IoT Device Management with X.509 certificates and mTLS, including certificate rotation and device posture monitoring.
•Design and optimize data pipeline flows from edge to cloud storage and processing (S3, SQS, Lambda, Glue, Aurora), ensuring encryption in transit/at rest and building ETL for legacy and real-time data.
•Guide DevSecOps automation for infrastructure deployment, compliance checks, and continuous monitoring using AWS-native tools (CloudFormation, Config, CloudWatch, Security Hub), while engaging stakeholders and maintaining architecture documentation.

Key Requirements

•Master’s level degree in Computer, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics (with concentration in computer science).
•Minimum 10 years of professional engineering experience in distributed systems, embedded software, or edge/IoT architectures, including 5 years as a senior or lead architect.
•5+ years designing and implementing IoT/edge platforms, including device-to-gateway communication, edge processing pipelines, and secure device-management workflows.
•5+ years of modern programming languages for IoT/edge systems (e.g., Python, C/C++, Go, or Java).
•3+ years architecting on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including at least 1 year with AWS IoT, AWS Greengrass (or equivalent), plus security controls for IoT/edge systems and container/microservices architecture experience.
