Key Responsibilities

•Create cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities that support Account Managers in bidding.
•Develop detailed scope from Account Managers’ design-build scope or bid-ready plans/specifications and produce competitive-bid estimates.
•Build detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposals, vendor/subcontractor quotes, and points lists.
•Perform take-off and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy for quantity, size, configuration, voltage, and options.
•Identify cost-saving opportunities and risks; optimize job costs by negotiating with vendors/subcontractors and support cost variation control through pre-bid validation and post mortems.

Key Requirements

•Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with 3 to 5 years estimating/engineering/construction management experience; or 5 to 7 years controls field experience; or equivalent education and experience.
•Proven experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls, and HVAC Systems.
•Knowledge of construction facets (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), plus strong financial and business acumen with a track record of projects on time and on budget.
•Ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
•Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations; flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required.
