Key Responsibilities

  • •Gather and analyze relevant facts to exercise judgment on liability using applicable procedures.
  • •Determine policy verification and coverage by analyzing claims coverage and confirming whether losses fall within coverage.
  • •Participate in USDA Risk Management Agency initiated reviews and referrals to support operations integrity and quality assurance.
  • •Maintain claims confidentiality to protect Zurich’s reputation.
  • •Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and staying current with industry trends, including through professional societies and personal networks.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ months of experience in the agricultural area (or agricultural/crop insurance industry for Crop Claims Specialist).
  • •Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) Certification must be obtained within 180 days of hire date (Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification).
  • •Reliable personal transportation and the ability to travel within the assigned territory.
  • •Ability to walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb storage bins up to 25 feet, and lift 25–50 lbs.
  • •Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills plus strong organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization (preferred includes intermediate Microsoft Office skills).
