Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct ecological surveys and vegetation assessments
  • •Assist in the planning of projects including deadlines and budgets
  • •Build relationships with colleagues and clients and contribute to project scopes and proposals
  • •Assess data and prepare ecological assessment reports and native vegetation data reports
  • •Engage in ongoing professional development through membership in scientific organizations and attendance at workshops/conferences

Key Requirements

  • •Environmental or Natural Science degree (ecology, botany, biology or similar)
  • •Field experience including flora surveys, ecological monitoring and identification of threatened communities
  • •Experience with GIS, field mapping and managing spatial datasets
  • •Knowledge of vegetation and biodiversity legislation and policy (e.g., EPBC Act 1999, Native Vegetation Act 1991, National Parks & Wildlife Act 1972, Environment Protection Act 1993)
  • •Experience in field survey design, data collection and reporting to support ecological assessments
