Job Summary

Lead WSP Structures UK North as Director/Discipline Team Leader, providing visible leadership, strategic direction, and resource management for a regional structures team of 100+ engineers and technicians. Drive business development and key account management to secure new and repeat work. Act as Project Director on strategic projects, oversee project delivery and technical excellence, and manage commercial performance including budgeting and forecasting across the Structures North centre.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide highly visible, inspirational leadership and strategic direction for the Structures North centre.
•Lead recruitment, staff development, personal development reviews, and resource management strategies.
•Secure work through existing contacts and focused marketing initiatives; serve as point of contact for key clients using key account management processes.
•Act as Project Director on strategic and/or significant projects, including client presentations and promoting strong project delivery and technical excellence.
•Oversee commercial management and operational performance, including budgetary strategies (fee bidding, working capital, debtors, invoicing, and forecasting).

Key Requirements

•Experience in the construction industry, particularly within the property sector.
•Proven track record delivering growth and profit with excellent client care and a motivated team.
•Strong business development focus with a reputation in the North market and relevant supply chains.
•Experience leading a team of people at senior level, including recruitment, development, and retention.
•Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer with an interest in promoting technical excellence and innovation.
