Key Responsibilities

  • •Produce, organize, and coordinate elements for a fast-paced newscast in Houston.
  • •Work with editorial leadership and reporting teams to execute daily broadcasts.
  • •Follow station news philosophy for breaking news and breaking weather, including consumer investigative content.
  • •Write, edit, produce, and gather accurate content under heavy deadline pressure and adapt to breaking news.
  • •React to schedule changes, create graphics, assign and edit news copy, and contribute daily story ideas; produce other newscasts and specials as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree in Broadcasting, Journalism or related field.
  • •At least 3 years’ experience writing in a broadcast or cable news environment.
  • •Spanish reading and writing proficiency.
  • •Ability to work flexible schedules and shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • •Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States and be willing to work at the station in Houston, Texas; must be 18+ and have a valid driver’s license.
