Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead substation technical discussions with clients and internal multi-disciplinary teams to establish scope, define interfacing, and ensure delivery.
  • •Lead technical delivery with engineering teams by agreeing approach, supporting scope understanding, monitoring progress, and checking deliverable quality before client issue.
  • •Utilize knowledge of substation project/asset life-cycle from a design perspective to successfully deliver client projects.
  • •Liaise with project management to produce resourcing forecasts and programmes, and demonstrate commercial awareness for proposal development and project cost monitoring.
  • •Drive safety in design ethos and mentor/develop more junior staff to build team capability and capacity.

Key Requirements

  • •Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • •Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) license (or equivalent) in the relevant field.
  • •Previous experience with consultancy, contractor, or utility in the energy sector, with client experience for transmission utilities/developers.
  • •Experience designing HV infrastructure across concept and FEED through to detailed design stages.
  • •Strong understanding of electrical AC HV plant infrastructure and equipment (AIS and GIS), and working knowledge of National Grid standards and specifications.
