Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform complex technical assignments involving instrumentation and data acquisition/processing systems.
  • •Connect and verify sensors (e.g., pressure transducers, thermocouples, and other sensors) and complete instrumentation/wiring of test stands and data acquisition systems.
  • •Layout, wire, and build developmental/production electrical and electronic units, assemblies, and systems; troubleshoot, repair, and modify as needed.
  • •Maintain, calibrate, configure, monitor, test, and troubleshoot instrumentation, process controls, data acquisition systems, and electrical systems; analyze results of calibrations and processed data.
  • •Investigate, diagnose, and document instrumentation or system malfunctions; collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures derived from test data.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalency certification.
  • •2+ years of experience working with at least one of: RTDs, silicon diode temperature devices, strain gages, load cells, displacement transducers, pressure transducers, oscilloscopes, or multimeters (2+ year technical college program experience counts).
  • •Operational knowledge of an oscilloscope and multimeter, soldering wires/connectors, crimping tools, wire stripping, continuity testing, and related wiring tasks.
  • •System-level troubleshooting skills to logically solve instrumentation system problems and determine corrective action.
  • •Knowledge of signal conditioning concepts for sensors (including thermocouple types K, S, and E) and related cold junction compensation concepts.
