Job Summary

Deliver biodiversity net gain (BNG) assessments and technical inputs for infrastructure and development projects across the UK, including feasibility, design-stage reporting, and Habitat Management Plans. Produce and review biodiversity assessments, support Welsh NBB assessments, and contribute to evolving BNG vision. Collaborate with stakeholders and clients, assist with training to upskill ecologists, and help embed innovation, including development of digital biodiversity tools.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver ecological BNG inputs for internal and external clients.
•Produce and technically review biodiversity assessments, including BNG feasibility and design stage reports and Habitat Management Plans.
•Collaborate with the BNG lead to develop BNG vision as biodiversity priorities evolve across the UK.
•Assist with training delivery to upskill ecologists across the business.
•Support client and stakeholder consultation, contribute to bids and tenders, and respond to BNG technical queries.

Key Requirements

•Degree (or equivalent) in ecology or an associated subject, and membership of an appropriate professional institution (such as CIEEM).
•Excellent knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and policy.
•Experience delivering biodiversity assessments, supported by suitable professional experience.
•Experience interpreting UKHabs data and Habitat Condition Assessments.
•Experience reviewing technical work, supporting wider team members, and bidding/tendering.
