Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide legal counsel and guidance to business units on regulatory and multi-jurisdictional legal matters.
  • •Advise on licensing and regulatory approval applications, including horizon scanning and analysis for regulated exchanges and brokerage firms.
  • •Develop regulatory strategies aligning business objectives with regulatory requirements, including implementation of regulatory change.
  • •Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents relevant to trading activities, in line with the company’s risk appetite.
  • •Conduct legal research and analysis on international financial industry regulations, and translate findings into actionable legal insights for new products and business strategies.

Key Requirements

  • •Substantial in-house legal experience in the financial markets sector, with strong expertise in trading firms, securities, and derivatives.
  • •Deep understanding of international financial industry regulations, with a focus on securities and derivatives laws, including emerging markets.
  • •Proficiency in contract drafting, negotiation, and comprehensive legal research.
  • •Relevant regulatory specialist experience, including brokerages/securities law and regulatory analysis that changes operations, systems, reporting, and internal structures.
  • •A license and qualified attorney with a degree from an accredited law school, plus the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
