Job Summary

Lead archaeological fieldwork projects from planning and consent applications, delivering bespoke archaeological strategies and works for developments and infrastructure. Prepare competitive tenders, design fieldwork scope and methodology in line with Health and Safety protocols, and contribute to desk-based assessments. Liaise with stakeholders, curators, and clients, and monitor WSP-approved subcontractors’ deliverables, including RAMS. Identify business development and marketing opportunities to diversify and grow the heritage service offering.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead fieldwork projects from planning and consent applications, delivering archaeological strategies and works for developments and infrastructure.
•Prepare competitive tenders and design archaeological fieldwork scope and methodology in line with WSP Health and Safety protocols and requirements.
•Produce or contribute to archaeological desk-based assessment.
•Undertake stakeholder, curator, and client liaison.
•Monitor and assure the work of WSP-approved fieldwork subcontractors, including technical review of deliverables and RAMS.

Key Requirements

•Experience in archaeological fieldwork project management, including project, financial, and staff management.
•Robust knowledge of Ireland archaeology and history, plus full knowledge of the planning process and relevant environmental/heritage legislation and guidance in Ireland.
•Experience across multiple areas such as heritage and planning, masterplanning, heritage conservation, heritage-led regeneration, recreation and tourism, placemaking, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and business development.
•Excellent writing skills, strong communication, and ability to work as a team player.
•A highly motivated, conscientious, and efficient approach with the ability to meet deadlines and budget in a consultancy environment.
