Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Support identification of new product/service changes and material business changes that must follow relevant AXP policies and standards.
  • •Create and execute a framework to categorize and risk-assess changes (including governance standards and risk taxonomy/decision criteria).
  • •Develop and scale risk assessment approaches considering strategic, operational, and compliance risks from BAU and novel innovation (e.g., agentic AI, digital transformation).
  • •Partner with cross-functional teams to identify emerging risks early and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • •Lead governance forums and track mitigation execution, providing transparent reporting on portfolio health, key risks, and emerging themes to senior leadership.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years in operational risk management within Risk and/or Internal Audit, with strong understanding of the operational risk management lifecycle.
  • •Experience establishing and overseeing process governance and decision-making aligned to policies and regulatory/operational standards.
  • •Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills to gain buy-in from senior business and technology counterparts.
  • •Experience in the financial services industry and strong analytical/problem-solving skills to evaluate risk scenarios using data and trend analysis.
  • •Ability to manage large programs and influence horizontally across teams across geographies.
