Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform preventive maintenance and routine maintenance duties, including collecting trending information for the Maintenance Manager
  • •Track spare parts usage and complete usage reports; assist with physical inventories
  • •Maintain plant operating manuals, technical references, prints/diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records
  • •Set up and operate machine shop tools; align and balance rotating equipment; inspect and repair turbines, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, and similar equipment
  • •Assemble, disassemble, repair, and adjust mechanical and electrical equipment; create and maintain accurate plant records and support training, procedure development, and contractor oversight

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED with 2 years of related power plant experience, or an associate’s degree in Instrumentation (or related) with 0 years of related power plant experience
  • •Valid State Driver’s License
  • •Successful candidates must receive a “Recommended” rating on the NRG pre-employment assessment test
  • •DOT PHMSA covered position requiring a pre-employment DOT drug screen and background check, and participation in the NRG DOT Program once placed
  • •Ability to complete a Maintenance Mechanics test; experience with turbines, pumps, HVAC, welding, or machining is highly desirable
