Key Responsibilities

  • •Build, operate, and stabilize the frequency-comb front end (setup, run, lock, and maintain the comb source).
  • •Build, stabilize, and characterize cavities (assemble, align, lock, and optimize reference and enhancement cavities).
  • •Perform hands-on lab work for the subsystem, including alignment, troubleshooting, measurement, and optimization independently.
  • •Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate the subsystem with amplification, synthesis, and advanced technologies into the overall system design.
  • •Use laser diagnostic and nonlinear techniques to measure and analyze ultrafast pulses, document results, and support continuous improvement and safety compliance.

Key Requirements

  • •Master's degree or PhD in Physics, Optical Engineering, Laser Engineering, Photonics, or a related field.
  • •Experimental expertise with ultrafast-laser sources (diode-pumped solid-state, short-pulse, fiber lasers and amplifiers) and their diagnostics.
  • •Practical experience with optical alignment, laser operation, and laboratory troubleshooting.
  • •Hands-on experience with optical frequency combs and their stabilization.
  • •Hands-on experience with high-finesse optical cavities (alignment, locking, mode-matching, and finesse/loss optimization), plus locking electronics and feedback/servo loops.
