Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and run third-party assessment programs for frontier models and safeguards, including defining assessment questions, scope, access, timelines, and deliverables.
  • •Build and manage strategic research partnerships with independent evaluators, academic labs, and experts to enable rigorous, challenge-ready research.
  • •Translate external findings into actionable recommendations for safeguards, deployment, product, and policy, and track follow-up actions.
  • •Partner with research, product, policy, and communications teams to explain evidence behind OpenAI’s safety approach, including limitations and uncertainty.
  • •Lead public transparency programs (e.g., system cards and assessment summaries) and create channels for researchers and civil society to provide feedback.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep experience building research partnerships and managing external stakeholders, including academic researchers and independent experts.
