Job Summary

Lead the end-to-end design tooling ecosystem for Zillow's AI-enabled design tooling. Unify scattered AI workflows into a cohesive, supported stack, define investment priorities, and ship production-ready tools that accelerate design and engineering workflows. Collaborate across design, research, and brand to integrate assets, drive adoption, and continuously improve the design system in AI-enabled contexts.

Key Responsibilities

•Unify ZxD's AI design tooling into one supported set with clear rules of the road.
•Decide which tools and workflows to invest in, partner around, or leave alone.
•Identify where AI design tooling pays off most, from early explorations through production-ready prototypes, and prioritize ownership vs vendor solutions.
•Evolve the design system as AI context by partnering with Constellation to improve MCP server, ship Constellation Skill bundles, and author starter templates for high-traffic surfaces.
•Build and maintain an evaluation harness to measure AI-generated UI against Constellation benchmarks and drive adoption across teams.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of relevant experience across design and front-end engineering
•Production experience shipping internal-facing tooling for designers or engineers with measurable adoption
•Strong fluency with modern AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) and patterns for productive use in real codebases
•Strong front-end engineering depth; comfortable opening PRs in real repos, including design system codebase
•Working knowledge of design systems: component libraries, tokens, primitives, accessibility, multi-brand or multi-surface theming
