Job Function: Transportation & Fleet Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and on schedule while obeying traffic laws and all safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas, and follow loading crew signals; assist with loading/unloading using specialized equipment.
  • •Maintain shipping and delivery documentation (invoices, shipping bills of lading) and deliver paperwork to the shipping office after completion.
  • •Facilitate routine service tasks (e.g., checking oil/water/gasoline/air) and report maintenance issues to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold a commercial driver’s license (Class A CDL) (or chauffeur’s license depending on state) appropriate for the vehicle weight.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations; offer contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen.
  • •Must pass DOT physical and be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles.
  • •Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds, and handle prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with professional, courteous communication with customers and staff at delivery points.
