Job Summary

Analyze and modify product designs to ensure manufacturability within RTX’s RLPM Gates and APQP framework. Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, fixtures, tooling, gaging, and operations, then conduct tests and measurements to control variables and solve production process issues. Provide guidance on design concepts, support manufacturing transition/build and design-to-cost efforts, and lead/enable variability reduction using tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop manufacturing processes considering transfer of technology from research to manufacturing.
•Develop procedures for economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments.
•Conduct tests and measurements during production stages; troubleshoot and solve process problems with existing processes or equipment.
•Review field support requirements and recommend tools and test equipment and required maintenance/repair materials.
•Lead and/or support variability reduction activities to mitigate process and product risk (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.).

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a university degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
•Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
•Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
•Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. person, or have an applicable immigration status requirement (U.S. citizenship required).
