Job Summary

Thermal/Mechanical Engineer in the ODM Enablement, Data Center Platform Engineering team, responsible for end-to-end development, readiness and validation of thermal/mechanical solutions for AMD data center products. Collaborates with ODM/OEM/Customer and AMD teams across silicon design, platform development, validation and manufacturing to deliver timely, commercially viable cooling solutions for data center servers and racks.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead end-to-end development, readiness and delivery of thermal/mechanical solutions for Data Center Server/Rack level platforms with ODM/OEM/Customer.
•Partner with ODM/OEM/Customer on thermal design to support timely launch and transfer to customer solutions.
•Contribute to product cycle readiness from conceptualization through mass production.
•Enable ODM/Customer through test plans for heat sinks, cold plates, and server-level cooling solutions; drive fast time-to-market.
•Analyze test results to identify thermal bottlenecks and propose design optimizations; generate detailed reports and present findings with ODM/customer solutions.

Key Requirements

•Strong background in heat transfer and fluid dynamics with emphasis on electronics thermal management.
•Datacenter server and rack level thermal test experience is preferred.
•Experience with validation of liquid cooled systems including component and system level test.
•Understanding of thermal management design elements including TIM, spreaders, heat sink, vapor chamber, heat pipe, and fan.
•CAD - Experience with SolidWorks and/or Creo is required; ability to implement liquid cooling designs in Creo or SolidWorks for CFD analysis is a plus.
