Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage comprehensive water resource management studies for mining projects from conceptual design through implementation and optimization.
  • •Use advanced modelling and simulation tools to predict water-related risks and evaluate mitigation measures for data-driven client decisions.
  • •Assess mine tailings dam integrity, including computed-aided models for dam-break scenarios.
  • •Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies, including storms analysis and 1D/2D hydraulic simulation to estimate floods and assess risks, including flood mitigation cost estimation.
  • •Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of professional experience in water resources engineering.
  • •Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality modelling practices and guidelines.
  • •Experience conducting flood-related studies for environmental assessments and infrastructure design projects (desirable across Mining, Water, and Urban Development).
  • •Proficiency with hydrology and hydraulic modelling software such as TUFLOW, ICM, HEC-RAS and related GIS tools (e.g., QGIS).
  • •Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
