Job Summary

Lead and shape the Beauty assortment by owning a commercially critical portfolio. Use market insight and strong supplier/Brand relationships to develop an assortment, negotiate terms, and drive in-season trading. Partner with your Merchandiser to analyse market data and ensure KPIs like sales, gross margin, stock targets, and customer hit rates are met. Manage a team of Buying Assistants and Junior Buyers while staying ahead of category trends and future dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

•Plan and buy the best range for customers in the Beauty category to deliver KPIs (sales, gross margin, stock targets, customer metrics and hit rates).
•Develop a strategic and complex assortment that optimises market trends and creates a competitive advantage.
•Independently manage supplier/Brand relationships and conduct supplier terms negotiations to secure favourable terms.
•Analyse commercial input and market data with the Merchandiser to bring branded and ownbrand ranges to market and support category pricing architecture.
•Lead in-season trading, stay ahead of market dynamics, and manage junior buyers and buying assistants while balancing priorities.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 55,600 - 84,100 annually

Key Requirements

•Extensive retail experience focused on buying, category management, or product management within the Beauty category, including branded and ownbrand buying practices.
•Proven brand experience, ideally in Beauty and/or Wellness.
•Strong negotiation skills, including leading strategic commercial negotiations with suppliers and Brands.
•In-depth category expertise including product trends, customer preferences, and direct experience with range planning and assortment development.
•Proven people management experience (minimum of 2 direct reports).
