Job Summary

Provide advisory technical support to the Shift Manager for safe plant operation, focusing on thermal hydraulics, reactor engineering, and plant analysis. Assist shift operations personnel in recognizing, diagnosing, and responding to plant transients and abnormal conditions. Serve as Shift Technical Advisor and may assume Control Room Supervisor as needed, while conducting work and operations reviews, coordinating scheduled activities, and ensuring compliance with regulations and Technical Specifications.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as Shift Technical Advisor, providing advisory technical support to the Shift Manager on conditions affecting safe plant operation.
•Assist shift operations personnel in recognizing, diagnosing, and effectively dealing with plant transients and abnormal plant conditions.
•Review and approve maintenance work orders and surveillance/PM routines, and coordinate with maintenance and other departments for scheduled activities.
•Provide direction to on-shift personnel from Chemistry, Radiation Protection, Maintenance, Engineering, and Security to complete scheduled shift activities.
•Provide oversight for compliance with regulations, Technical Specifications, and administrative controls; act as a Response team member for unplanned events and prepare reports for senior management.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in engineering, engineering technology, or related sciences plus 18 months of nuclear experience, or a high school diploma/GED with qualifying nuclear operational experience.
•Must obtain and maintain a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
•Must meet eligibility requirements of current INPO ACAD for Direct SRO and for Shift Technical Advisor.
•Completion of an INPO Accredited Shift Technical Advisor Training Program.
•Pass required physical examination per NRC Regulation 396 and Guide 1.134.
